HOUSEBOATS

Patrons can either hire a houseboat or bring a private vessel.

You will need to contact houseboat companies directly to check availability and the viability of bringing a boat to Wiseman’s Ferry as we are not affiliated with specific companies.

Able Houseboats & Ripples Houseboats are two companies we know who hire vessels to Playground Weekender patrons.

BOAT MOORING TICKET

Tickets go on sale on 17 November

All houseboats and private vessels MUST purchase a boat mooring and shuttle boat ticket.

Available from the ‘Buy Tickets’ section and click on ‘Buy Accommodation’ you will see an option to purchase a ” Boat Mooring” Ticket.

Festival goers will NOT be allowed to use the houseboat tenders or life boats to access the festival site as there is an exclusion zone which will be policed by NSW Maritime, NSW Police and the Coastal Patrol 24 hrs a day across the 4 days of the festival.

The “Boat Mooring” ticket entitles you to moor your houseboat or private vessel within the designated Exclusion Zone and it also covers the cost of the water taxi shuttle service which operates from 9 am – 1 am on a daily basis.

Please note that there is also paid 24 water taxi service available.

BEST DRESSED BOAT PRIZE

We offer a prize for the best dressed boat so get creative!

HOUSEBOAT & BOAT MOORING GUIDELINES

Failure to use the designated shuttle service to and from the festival site will result in your festival pass being revoked.

Intoxication whilst in charge of a vessel is illegal in NSW so be sensible about moving your boat if you are within the exclusion zone.

Any attempt to swim, kayak or paddle to the site will also result in arrest by NSW Water Police. Its is worth noting that the Hawkesbury River is tidal and has extremely strong currents, which may lead to serious injury or drowning.

Lets make this a festival to remember for the right reasons. Festivals are supposed to be fun! Alcohol, boats and partying can be a dangerous mix and can lead to serious accidents, injury and death; so please look after yourself and your mates at all times. If you are the skipper of the boat you are responsible for the vessel and people on board.
